Prisustvovali smo predavanju u knjižnici Bogdana Ogrizovića u sklopu Mjeseca posvećenog jazzu Harlem Renaissance. Predavanje i razgovor vodila je Erica King, iz Odjela za odnose s javnošću Američke ambasade u Zagrebu. Učenici naše škole i Gimnazije Sesvete te osnovne škole imali su puno pitanja. We had an interesting lecture about jazz culture on April 29th in the Library at Cvjetni trg. The lecture was presented by Erica King who works at the Embassy. She is a native speaker so the lecture was in English but her Croatian is really good so she told us a few sentences in Croatia,n too.

Ms King talked about jazz music and how it changed throughout the years. She also mentioned some people that had the impact on it as well. She mentioned her personal life back in San Antonio, Texas, where she used to live and her experience of jazz and how it tookwas a part in her family too. We also heard about her life now in Zagreb, something about her kids that are in the kindergarten and in general about her life here and how she adapted to the whole new world she is in.

I really enjoyed the presentation because I love hearing about other people`s cultures and it was interasting to me to see how someone could change their life by moving and adapting to that kind of life really fast. I liked that we welcomed a native speaker and that the presentation was in English and I hope we will hear from Ms King again.
